Known history of this Chevelle Malibu SS begins with John and Patricia Ownes of California when they purchased this example from a collector in Colorado. Under the Ownes ownership, they maintained it for over 30 years, before selling it in 2022. During the Ownes tenure this example was the recipient of a nut-and-bolt restoration. Originally born Palomer Red, the Ownes would change the color to the current attractive shade of dark blue as it was the same color of the car they had when they were newlyweds. Their pride and joy, this example was sparingly driven, often taken to shows, and always stored in their climate-controlled garage. Said to retain its original factory sheet metal, this early production Van Nuys California built example features T-3 branded headlights, rear bumper guards, Malibu SS badging, and classic Firestone redline tires.
